Aufgaben We, the department Global Credit Risk Instruments within Mercedes-Benz Mobility AG (MBM), are responsible for the global development of risk classification procedures and fraud prevention models. Using these, we automate the credit decision processes within our local markets and play a key role in several strategic digitalization initiatives. Moreover, our tools and services facilitate the realization of the digital user journey and pave the way for enabling the online sales business.
For the development of our models, we not only use standardized statistical methods, but we are also one of the leading departments within MBM developing and using machine learning methods. For several markets, we additionally operate a credit decision engine, which acts as a centralized and fully integrated decisioning system within the customer onboarding process.
We are currently searching for a team player (f/m/x) with an innovative mindset and strong customer orientation who desires a new challenging position.
As a Data Engineer (f/m/x), with a focus on Credit Decision Data, you will be responsible for all processes revolving around the generation, storage, maintenance, preparation and transfer of data (stemming from our credit decision engine and other sources). Additionally, you will significantly contribute to building the future data architecture within the cloud environment Microsoft Azure. Specifically, you will be working on data onboarding pipelines as well as building and maintaining deletion rules in accordance with GDPR and other requirements.
Moreover, you will be supporting statistical-methodological model development by providing high qualitative and current data to the developers. Here you will gather insights into several methodologies for developing statistical decision models, including techniques of statistical learning. As a future perspective, you might take over additional working packages in this area as well.

- You will be engaged in the connection of systems to the internal data lake using Azure Data Factory and in the setup of ETL processes within Databricks to realize scalable data pipelines
- You will maintain and develop the cloud-based data management architecture within the Delta Lake as well as the related workflows
- You will process and extract datasets in preparation of the development of statistical decision models and integrate these in automated pipelines. If fit, you may take over statistical modeling tasks in the field of creditworthiness and fraud probability estimation
- You will support the implementation and maintenance of deletion concepts according to GDPR requirements using Microsoft Azure Databricks and monitor the compliance with data protection
- You will be responsible for the access authorization management of different Databricks environments
- You will work within an agile project team as both a data engineer (f/m/x) and a subject matter expert (f/m/x)
Profil Qualifications:
- Technical degree or degree in (computer) science, e.g. Information Systems; (Business-) Mathematics, Engineering or Informatics; Data Engineering or similar
- Excellent knowledge in handling databases, SQL and Spark (especially PySpark or Scala) and experiences with established database applications, data preparation and administration as well as a strong interest in working with large data sets
- Good programming skills (e.g. Python, Scala or statistical language such as R) as well as a high affinity for IT related topics and experiences with tools for versioning control (e.g. GitHub Enterprise)
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, especially with Databricks and Azure Data Factory is a plus
- Knowledge of statistical, financial mathematical and machine learning methods as well as experience in the development and application of risk classification methods is helpful
- Excellent business negotiation language skills in English, German language skills appreciated
