You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Data Analytics and actively contribute to the success of the digital transformation at ZEISS. In this challenging function, you will help our business units to identify and develop strategic data-driven use case opportunities. As a Data Engineer at the ZEISS Digital Partners, you are part of our Enterprise Data Platform team and collaborate with Data Scientists, Software Developers and Product Owners to drive digital products. Together with your colleagues, you will be responsible for the connection, transformation and blending of data and you will create harmonized data models and communicate them using suitable visualizations. Furthermore, you will utilize on premise tools as well as Cloud based software and help to operate and support the productive environments (DevOps).

• a degree in a MINT field or an equivalent educational background

• at least 3 years of experience in the shaping and development of data analytics platforms

• demonstrated practice in SQL, Linux-Shell and Python or R or Scala 

• know-how in relevant ETL- and Visualization Tools, 

• strong experience in working with at least one of the following Cloud Service Providers: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Google Cloud  

• Skills in Infrastructure Automation e.g. Terraform, ARM etc. are beneficial 

• an interest in working with agile and interdisciplinary development teams, with strong communication skills in English as well as German in order to be able to effectively explain the relevant concepts and technologies
